This workshop is a combination of Yoga Movement and Nutrition designed for people that want to build stronger bones or deal with Osteoporosis.

In this workshop you will
-Understand what osteoporosis and osteopenia is.
-Learn decision making format for risk management.
-Practice yoga sequence for bone strengthening.
-Learn about nutrients needed for bone health.
-Identify what foods to incorporate into your diet to support bone health (recipes and food samples provided).
There will be 90 minute session of Yoga movement with Jo Schneiderman addressing bone strenghtening movements, sharing essencial information on weight bearing, definition of osteopenia and osteoporosis, and contraindicated movements for osteoporosis.
Jo will provide handouts with drawings of two 20 sequences people can do at home to mitigate bone loss.
Julia Hampton will guide the nutrition part of the workshop for 90 minutes exploring how your relationship with your body and food is just as important as the food you choose to eat.
You will learn about nutrients needed for bone health and the complex factors of bone formation.You will learn to identify what foods contain nutrients for bone health:What ones are you already eating? What 1-3 foods do you want to incorporate into your diet?
Julia will share recipes and food samples.
The final 30 minutes of the event are designed to answer questions that clients might have.
