Join the Vermont Community Garden Network's Community Teaching Garden instructor, Denise Quick, at Burlington's Tommy Thompson Community Garden, 11:30am-12:45pm, Saturday, June 28th for a lesson on garden pests. Learn to identify common pests, gather practical tips for controlling them, and come away with a new-found appreciation for the insect world. And bring your garden questions too!
Garden Basics is a series of workshops for beginner gardeners, held on 7 Saturdays throughout the summer. These workshops are presented by the Vermont Community Garden Network in partnership with Burlington Area Community Gardens / Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront. Remaining dates and topics include:
· June 28: Pests & Disease Prevention & Control
· July 26: Food & Medicine from Your Weeds (Come early for a brunch potluck, 10:00-11:30am)
· August 23: Using & Preserving Garden Produce
· September 27: Extending the Season & Putting the Garden to Bed
