Hi Everyone,

Getting ready for July Fourth? Want to get more out of your celebrations this year? Join the Peace & Justice Center in a participatory reading of Fredrick Douglass’ "The Meaning of the Fourth of July for the Negro" for its 162nd anniversary. As a community event, we invite you to reconsider the meaning of freedom and racial justice through a historical lens as we celebrate our nations Independence Day. Copies of the speech will be provided and audience members are encouraged to partake in the shared reading of this influential speech. Everyone welcome!
When: July 8th at 6pm
Where: Steps of City Hall, Burlington
