This workshop is appropriate for preschool and elementary age children in the company of a parent or caretaker. Parents will be encouraged to participate as well. Be protected against ticks - even in November! The workshop is free; donations to the Community Forest gratefully accepted.
Stonework Play is an open-ended invitation for children and parents to make "drawings" or constructions with stones. Those who participate will explore the unique ways stones can be used to create patterns, designs, and sculptures. It is a wonderful way to use a natural material while being surrounded by nature, enjoying the company of those who work nearby. No drawing experience is necessary. This workshop is part of an International Stonework Playday held during the same week. Play with stones and know that children across the world are doing the same thing..
Sarah Cady Becker has been instrumental in working with ASA to create the Sensory Trail. She is a life-long early childhood and elementary educator, now devoting her time to working with children in natural settings.
Please preregister by emailing me. I will email registered participants if weather causes workshop to be postponed to Sunday, November 6, same time.
Parking is available in designated lots only at the opposite end of street. Please do not park on the street.
