Join the Waterbury Stowe Fish and Game Club for an introduction to the art of shooting a rifle or shotgun on Sunday, October 16th.
Members of the club will staff both the rifle range and a skeet range so members of the public can learn to shoot either a rifle or shotgun in a safe environment. The emphasis of this program is learning how to safely handle and operate a firearm. Hitting the target is a bonus!
Rifle shooting takes place with .22 caliber rifles from benches. Participants need to be able to manage a youth-sized rifle on a bench. On the skeet range, participants need to be able to safely manage the weight and recoil of a shotgun while standing. This activity is more suited to larger teenagers and adults.
The club will provide all firearms and ammunition.
We have one-hour time slots available from noon to 3 PM on both the rifle and the skeet range. The rifle range can accommodate 2 shooters. The skeet range can accommodate 4 shooters.
Reach out to Bill Whitehair at william.whitehair@gmail.com and let him know which range you'd like to try and the top 2 choices of times. If you'd like to try both rifle and shotgun, we'll try and make that happen too.
