(I'm sharing this information as an individual citizen, although I do represent Bristol on the MAUSD School Board)
There is a school board meeting coming up on Oct 11 (next Tuesday) that will include discussion about some important topics:
1) The upcoming merger vote;
2) A recap of the recent state board of education meeting and discussion of potential implications for MAUSD
These discussions will start around 7:00pm. Before that, from 6-7pm, we're having a Board/Staff conversation about the merger vote that you're welcome to listen in on as well, if you're interested in hearing what's on the minds of some staff members.
On the merger vote, the Board will be deciding whether to adopt a resolution in support of the merger. If you are interested in learning Board members' different perspectives on this issue and want to hear to a more indepth discussion beyond sound bites in the paper or on FPF, this could be helpful. Regarding the recap of the State Board of Ed meeting that took place last week, this will help bring you up to speed about the status of the Lincoln withdrawal and options for/ impacts on MAUSD.
