Greetings, Fairfax,
If your youth wanted to join High Hopes 4-H Club, and you have not let us know, please do so! Our annual meeting is this week and we have a lot to cover. We also need to have youth enrolled in the program before their first meeting. Directions should be out Monday!
The club has doubled in size and is now at 21 regular members and 5 Cloverbuds (5-7 year olds).
The new member package of club t-shirt (to be ordered) and club binder will be $25. The 4-H'ers will set dues at this meeting (probably in the $15 range), and projects usually cost between $5 and $15 each, making annual club costs less than $100. Payments are made throughout the year, not all up front. Financial assistance is also available.
Meetings are mostly Thursday evenings 5:30 to 7:30, with livestock and horse project meetings each one Saturday mid-morning per month. Youth only participate in projects they are interested in, but everyone comes to business meetings. A typical youth will come to the business meetings (first Thursday monthly), a Saturday meeting, and one or two Thursday projects.
There are many additional club, county, and state activities to be participated in, and some national level activities so the youth can spread their wings in preparation for bigger things in life! We've got a promotional event coming up in the next few weeks already!
E-mail for more information, or to get on the list if we've met or talked already!
