The Vermont Theatre Company is pleased to announce auditions for our upcoming production of It Runs in the Family written by Ray Cooney. Auditions will take place on Sunday, October 2 at 1:00 p.m. and Monday, October 3 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hooker Dunham Theater in Brattleboro, VT. The show will be performed at the Evening Star Grange in Dummerston, VT on December 2 - 4 and 9 - 11, 2022.
Set in a hospital four days before Christmas, It Runs in the Family contains the usual assortment of farcical nuts running in and out of doors mistaking everybody for someone else, as Dr. Mortimore tries to fend off a paternity suit, an ex wife, a punkish son and various other lunatics so that he may, at last, deliver the Ponsonby Lecture in an international conference.
There are roles for all genders ages 16 - 70. Casting will be gender blind. Interested actors are asked to prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues. Total time not to exceed 4 minutes.
