Maudean Neill on the KKK in 1920s Vermont
The fall session of the Central Vermont Osher Life-long Learning Institute (OLLI) continues on Wednesday, September 28 at 1:30 pm at the Montpelier Senior Activities Center. Genealogist and author Maudean Neill will share her research on Ku Klux Klan activities in Vermont in the 1920s.
Finding an old family photo of people in the white robes of the KKK led Neill to research the topic and ultimately resulted in her 1989 book Fiery Crosses in the Green Mountains: The Story of the KKK in Vermont. Neill will share her photos and stories and encourage discussion about this period in Vermont.
Neill's presentation is the second of the fall term which consists of eight weekly presentations on current topics followed by a 3-film series with Rick Winston. Information on the whole series is available on the Central Vermont OLLI website: https://learn.uvm.edu/olli/centralvt
You may register for all 11 weekly presentations―eight talks plus three films―for $40 ($70 for two) or for individual sessions at $8 apiece.
