Wine Tasting at the Wine Vault

Past event
Sep 23, 2022, 4 to 7 PM

Please join us for a taste match between South Africa and the southern region of Burgundy, Beaujolais. With a sparkling dry red from Italy just for good measure.

The white Gamay (yes white) from Beaujolais, France. The taste is dry slightly citrus with mild delightful hints of pear and mineral.

The South African white, Sauvignon Blanc is from the Western Cape overlooking False Bay. From the biodynamic winery of Waterkloof, this Sauvignon Blanc is more subdued than a New Zealand SB. Taste of gooseberry, citrus, and lime zest.

The French red is a Gamay from Juliénas in Beaujolais. Only 1000 cases were produced, grapes are grown on volcanic rock and granite, and taste of blackcurrant, pepper, and a touch of cinnamon.

The South African red is located in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The wine is predominantly a Cabernet Sauvignon blend with a small percentage of Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Taste of dark berry fruits with a hint of smokiness.

The Italian sparkling red Lambrusco from Emilia-Romagna is a Wine Vault favorite. 100% Lambrusco Salamino, color is seductively crimson, frothy, and totally dry.
