HEC Sustainability Fair and Energy Audit Giveaway!

Past event
Sep 24, 2022, 10 AM to 1 PM

In ten days, on Saturday September 24, the Huntington Energy Committee will put on a sustainability fair at the Huntington Rec field that will include a number of exciting opportunities: (1) Electric Vehicle test-drives, hosted both by folks from Green Mountain Power who will bring a fleet of EVs for folks to try, and also any EV-driving Huntington residents who would like to come share their knowledge, talk about their experiences with EVs, and provide test-drives if they are willing (any residents interested can email me at nallgaier@gmail.com with questions, or feel free to just show up on the day!). Rumor has it we may even have a Ford F150 Lightning in attendance! This will be a great way to start National Drive Electric Week (9/23-10/2, https://driveelectricweek.org/)... come out and join us; (2) Solar panel vendors, who will provide info about the benefits, logistics, and available incentives for installation of home solar arrays (roof and/or ground); (3) Info from Efficiency Vermont about buttoning up your home for the winter (and summer!) for improved home thermal efficiency, more cost and energy efficient methods of home heating and cooling (i.e., heat pumps), and available incentives to help make these updates happen in your home! In addition, the HEC will be giving away AT LEAST 7 home energy audits to Huntington residents in attendance... don't miss this opportunity; (4) and finally, discussions with HEC members on the many ways in which you can get involved in sustainability and resilience efforts in our community... one key option is to join our committee; we need you!

As an added bonus, this event will occur in conjunction with the Riverside Memorial, a horseshoe tournament being put on by the Vermont chapter of the New England Horseshoe Pitchers' Association! Information on the tournament can be found on their website (https://newenglandhorseshoes.net/vermont.html), including who to contact if you'd like to take part.

Come out and learn a ton about what you can do to improve the sustainability and resilience of your home, and our community as a whole, possibly win a Home Energy Audit to get you started, and maybe even pitch a few shoes if you're game (or at least check it out!)... we can't wait to see you there!
