Bond Special Meeting

If the bond fails, we will lose space for HS classrooms as the large elementary classes work their way into the middle school. To keep MS class sizes manageable, we will need to add additional classrooms for Grades 5 and 6. The most logical place is on the second floor of the high school; just down the stairs from the Grade 5 and 6 MS classrooms. As a result, several HS teachers will be relegated to a cart, moving from classroom to classroom to teach. Teaching from a cart is difficult. The teacher never has an actual space to establish culture which can make classroom management more difficult. They have reduced flexibility to pivot at a teachable moment because they only have the resources on their cart.

Sharing classrooms reduces our flexibility in scheduling making it more difficult to provide all of the classes that students desire. Typically, the first courses to go are electives and advanced courses as we will need to ensure that we offer the courses needed for graduation.
