The Fairfax Knights of Columbus is assisting Pedals for Progress in its annual Bike and Sewing Machine Collection on Saturday, September 10. We will collect bikes and sewing machines at Paul's Cow Wash, Main Street Fairfax from 9 to 11 AM. Here's how you can help:
1. Donate a bike. We ask for a $15 donation from each bike or sewing machine to help transport it to its new home overseas to be used as primary transportation for its new owner. Bike not complete? - don't worry, we need plenty of parts bikes too! People are very ingenious in their use of parts bikes to make carts and wagons to use!
2. Donate funds - not all donors make cash donations, so your generous donation will help Pedals for Progress meet the shipping costs needed to get the bikes to their final destination!
3. Help breakdown bikes for transport - to maximize efficiency, bikes are modified to allow more bikes to be packed in each container. If you are interested in helping -contact Bob Thompson at (802)503-7969.
