Christ Episcopal Church on State Street in Montpelier invites the greater Montpelier area to our Homecoming Sunday on September 11, 2022!
The day starts with our regular 10 am service which will feature the return of the Church School and the choir. We will also bless our new, baby grand piano. There will be special prayers and music to celebrate the return of our parish family to the regular schedule.
We are particularly looking to welcome back parishioners whose circumstances have caused them to stay away from the church during the pandemic. If you have been a parishioner at Christ Church, we particularly want to welcome you back, if only for the day. We miss you and want to reconnect with you.
If you're new to the area or in the market for a new church home or would just like to see the inside of our church and hear the organ and piano, you too are welcome to join us on the 11th. We welcome anyone who wishes to spend a little time with us as we celebrate our family!
After the service, at approximately 11:30 am, all are welcome to a reception in our courtyard! We will have food and drink, and live music, to celebrate our coming back together after a fun-filled summer. Whether you come to the service or not, please feel free to join us in celebration!
In honor of the day and of those who are no longer here to gather with us, we will be having a memorial service at 5 pm, also in the courtyard. Some of you may remember the service we offered to the community for the 20th anniversary of the attack on our country on September 11th. This service will remember those victims, but we will also remember those who have died during the Covid pandemic and the many things we hold dear that have been lost. We invite you to a time of quiet remembrance.
