Late Summer Dead-Heading & Fall Clean-Up Workshop

Past event
Aug 19, 1 PM to 3:30 PM, Aug 20, 2022

On Friday & Saturday, 8/19 & 20, I will be sharing some late-season, secrets & tips for great fall & next-spring gardens! Many people don't know that many plants & shrubs will give you repeat blooms if you know the gardening skill called "dead-heading". The plants only care about making seeds, for the next generation, so if you remove the browning flowers, they'll need to bloom again to accomplish that. Come & find out where to trim different perennials & shrubs, to make this magic happen.

We'll also learn what plants do & don't need to be cut back during fall clean-up. We'll cover iris, daylilies, roses, raspberries, coneflowers, phlox, asters & whatever plants you'd like to learn about. What to do with all those clippings? Brush pile or compost pile? Probably both!

I love sharing these helpful tips with fellow gardeners! Also, I've started creating a "meadow" on a large, grassy hill & I'd be happy to share what I've learned so far.

Fall flowers are starting to bloom all over, so come for a visit! Lots of photos & info at, www.nativeplantsetc.com or reply here. Thanks very much!
