Vermont Philharmonic Summer Pops Returns to Moose Meadow August 14
The Vermont Philharmonic, led by maestro Lou Kosma, will perform a Pops Concert at Moose Meadow Lodge in Duxbury at 4 pm on Sunday, August 14, 2022. The program highlights soloists from the orchestra itself. Concertmaster Letitia Quante will play "Meditation" from Massenet's Thais; clarinetist Margaret Roddy will play the larghetto from Mozart's Quintet in A; and Andrea Brightenback will play "Gabriel's Oboe", the theme from the film The Mission.
The Orchestra will also perform selections from Hamilton and West Side Story, Fats Waller's "Ain't Misbehavin", George M Cohan's "Give My Regards to Broadway!" and "Brucia la terra" from The Godfather. The concert will open with Sousa's "El Capitan" march, and close with "The Stars and Stripes Forever".
Moose Meadow Lodge is at 607 Crossett Hill Road in Duxbury. Parking is limited and carpooling is recommended. The grounds will open for picnicking at 3 PM.
