Hi, more information about the VT Gran Fondo 4-gap (App, Lincoln, Brandon, and Middlebury Gaps) ride coming through our area on Saturday. Essentials: about 150 riders, more if the weather turns out nice. Route through our area is coming east over the App Gap, down 17, south on German Flats, east down the Sugarbush Access Road, south on 100 then west on Lincoln Gap. In our area, the rest stops are at the top of the App Gap and the top of the Lincoln Gap. There may be riders stopping for supplies at the Warren Store. Time frame for racers to come through this area is 9:45-11:45 am. Here's the blurb from Sue at the Addison County Chamber of Commerce:

What IS a Gran Fondo? A Gran Fondo is a European style cycling event that is this Saturday, June 14th. It starts and finishes from the Middlebury Snow Bowl. Start time is 8 a.m. We expect 150+ riders--the majority of whom will be riding the App, Lincoln, Brandon and Middlebury Gaps (in that order). Motorists should be aware that there are extra cyclists on the road Saturday.

The Addison County Chamber of Commerce has worked closely with the 14 towns the event travels through, as well as VTrans and the Department of Public Safety to produce a safe event for everyone.
