Mark your calendars! All are cordially invited to a very special free event at Main Street Arts on July 8th at 7:30 pm. Pianist and UVM Professor David Feurzeig is playing a free concert in every town in Vermont between May 2022 and December 2026 as part of the Play Every Town Project. Why is he doing this? He hopes to bring attention to Climate Change.

As a performing artist, Feurzeig believes that the existing models for touring are not sustainable. He says of the project, "Live music is back after a long Covid pause. Great! But Long-distance jet-dependent concertizing is not limited to star performers: for academic musicians as well, like me, there are incentives to fly, fly, fly. The farther the gig, the more prestige and promotion/tenure brownie points earned—even at UVM, my green-branded employer." With this in mind, he pledges to drive his electric vehicle to perform a free concert in every town in Vermont over the next four years.

MSA is proud to be among his first concerts, representing the Town of Rockingham. Showtime is Friday, July 8 at 7:30 pm. David will accompany two local singers, Rockingham student Kaylee Desmarais and Alyssa Becker (former student of Rockingham's Julane Deener.)
