Join us at the gazebo in front of the Stowe Free Library/The Current at the corner of Pond and School streets for books and activities to help kids develop a strong sense of racial identity, an understanding of inclusion and bias (in kid-friendly language!) and tools for parents along this journey of raising anti-racist kids.
Laura Smith is a racial literacy consultant who works with Building Fearless Futures and consults with school districts across the Northeast Kingdom. During the school year, Laura leads Anti-Racist Storytime in K-2 classrooms and assists teachers in bringing a more liberators pedagogy into their classrooms. All ages are welcome at the summer story time, although it is most appropriate for ages 4-12.
