The words of celebrated Vermont poet David Budbill take center stage in this special program featuring David's long-time collaborator and jazz legend William Parker (composer / double bass / multi-instrumentalist), Scrag Mountain Music co-Artistic Directors Mary Bonhag (soprano) and Evan Premo (composer / double bass), and a multi-genre band of musicians from around the country performing music by Parker, Premo, and Erik Nielsen--including Parker's "Sutras Ensemble," a group of seven musicians/vocalists who are traveling to VT from New York City just for these concerts. Together these artists offer a sonically diverse program that weaves together David's iconic poetry.
