This coming Friday, June 6, from 7:30-9:30, my family trio “Turidae” (Lisa Carlson flute, Mariah Carlson-Kirigin, violin and harp, and Clara Carlson-Kirigin, viola) will perform a mix of primarily Celtic and classical repertoire in a spirited collection of lovely works – ranging from arrangements of Irish traditional tunes for flute, viola and harp, including some viola fiddling, to a Devienne Duo for flute and viola, to a bit of Vivaldi’s Spring featuring solo violin, to a Kuhlau piano sonatina with flute, violin and viola. We’ll perform a similar program twice at North Branch – once from 7:30-8:30 PM and once from 8:30-9:30. We will also perform primarily the same repertoire for Sunday brunch at Bagitos - June 15 from 11:00-1:00.

Mariah played principal second violin in Vassar College orchestra last year along with two chamber ensembles, and Clara , Oberlin College sophomore, played principal viola in last year’s high school All New England Festival concert – as well as All State and VYO. Lisa has taught private flute lessons and performed sporadically since 1985, is currently in demand throughout the state for music for weddings and other occasions, and currently performs with a variety of top local musicians, including Raymond Karl Malone, Elizabeth Reid, Michael Close, and many more, in addition to the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra.
