If you feel your property is unfairly assessed you have another opportunity to appeal that assessment. The deadline for this year's property tax appeals is May 19. If you missed the deadline last year, you still have another chance! Remember that our assessed values are based on market values April 1, 2021.....not today's value.
John Vickery, the Burlington City Assessor and Alan Bjerke, Chair of the Burlington Board of Tax Appeals will give a presentation on how best to present an appeal of your property tax assessment in Burlington. The presentation will be on Tuesday, May 10th from 4-6 PM at Burlington City Hall, First Floor. The presentation will be recorded and posted on the Assessor's page of the City's website, so if you are unable to attend in person, you can watch the presentation and the slides after the fact.
