Main Street Arts current gallery show, "Emergence", is a multi-artist interactive art show featuring the work of Anya Bredbeck, Vale Burns, Candace Jensen, Collin Leech, Evie Lovett, Fiona Morehouse, Amber Paris, Cynthia Parker-Houghton and Rachel Portesi. Meetra Khamoosh, an Afghan refugee new to our area, will also show her work.
The artists will explore themes of community and reconnection through an open invitation to the audience to contribute to the evolving installation, Phoenix. The artists will use the table in the center of the gallery to as the workspace for a collaborative community engaged fire/nest/egg/phoenix structure that will grow over the course of the show. They envision a display of pageantry and ritual as the Phoenix leaves the building during the Open Studios on Memorial Day weekend. You can watch the evolution of the Phoenix and learn more about workshops and other activities via the show's Instagram page @emergenceMSA.
An opening reception will be held Friday, April 22nd between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m.. The gallery is open Fridays and Saturdays noon to 5:00 p.m. and during any other MSA events. Workshops and other events related to the exhibit will be scheduled.
