Due to an uptick in local COVID-19 cases, the Select Board is holding its meetings via Zoom, though Town Hall will be open and staffed for in-person participation, per. 1 V.S.A. § 312 (a)(2)(D). 5:00 Call to order, welcoming guests, amendments.
Accepting Eric Young's official resignation as Lister and appointing Annette Halasz to replace him until the March 2023 Town Meeting. Action likely.
5:10 Bandstand Committee's request to apply for a grant from the Vermont Arts Council (Cultural Facilities grant) for the repair and restoration of the Bandstand concrete slab floor, and installation of an access ramp to meet ADA accessibility requirements, after the 2022 summer concert season has ended. This grant requires a 50% match from the Town. Action likely.
5:20 Tod Sirak's presentation re: renting or perhaps buying the old Fire Station behind Town Hall for use as woodshop with a retail component. No action.
5:30 Monthly meeting with the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department. Action possible.
5:50 Review and approval of the 2022 Local Emergency Management Plan. Action likely.
6:00 Highway Department: Ratifying a Highway Department application for a paving grant from VTRANS and authorizing Road Commissioner Vic Dwire as signatory. Action likely
Executive Session per 1 V.S.A.§313 (a)(1) (D) to discuss grievances. No action.
Executive Session per 1 V.S.A.§313(a)(3) re: the appointment or employment or evaluation of a public officer or employee, provided that the public body shall make a final decision to hire or appoint a public officer or employee in an open meeting and shall explain the reasons for its final decision during the open meeting. 6:30 Review of Steve Martin's email to the Board re: annual highway department boot compensation procedure. Action possible.
6:45 Treasurer's Report. ARPA report update. Action possible
7:05 Considering leveling fines against Robert Bowers and Downstreet Housing for violating the Town's junk ordinance as warned in a May 5, 2021 letter to them regarding abandoned vehicles encroaching on VT Route 12. Action possible
