WOW! Today truly feels like Spring and outdoor activities from our Rotary Club are gearing up! We welcome your involvement and will be posting opportunities for members of the community to join us either in person or with recommendations, suggestions, etc.
First up is the 23rd Bill Mikell Easter Parade and Egg Hunt. This will take place in front of the Williston Central School on Saturday, April 16, 2022. The parade begins PROMPTLY at 9:00. We encourage all area children to dress up (watch weather reports for specific attire needs-event will take place regardless of the weather), bring an Easter basket and arrive a little early to visit with representatives from the Williston Fire and Police departments. Prizes will be awarded to children who find specially marked eggs and those wearing costumes or bonnets.
We will begin maintenance on the Fontaine Canoe Access area, the Schmoker Hiking Trail and Rotary sponsored benches throughout town. We welcome assistance from community members (we will post specific dates and times) and also welcome information about trail and bench needs.
Daffodils are peeking through along the bike path near the entrance to the community park. These have been planted by the Rotary club for the enjoyment of all who stroll or roll by. Feel free to share pictures with us via our email address.
Our club is making plans for a community Memorial Day observance (Monday May 30, 2022) and recognition of veterans bricks installed at the park next to the town offices. More information will follow as the date draws closer.
Don't forget about scholarships for high school seniors recently posted by Angela Arsenault of our club. We look forward to hearing from many of our area high school seniors.
