Planning a Research Trip
April 2, 2022
Many serious genealogy researchers eventually decide they want to visit repositories in other states or even other countries. Planning well is the key to maximizing a trip's benefits. In this talk Sharon Flaherty & Ed McGuire will describe how to successfully organize a research trip. They will go over coordinating with repositories in advance, knowing what's there before you leave home and planning so that one can quickly obtain the records and the source citations you'll need. A handout with notes from this presentation, packing lists, links to trip planning resources, helpful tools to take and a research trip checklist will be included. Classes by the VT Genealogy Library are Zoom webinars from 10:30 to noon. The cost is $10.00. Please visit our website, www.vtgenlib.org for additional information and to register.
