Special Program April 14

From 7-9 PM

Bristol is an amazing town (as described in 57 Love Notes to Bristol, and as declared on the back of the Bristol Trail Network t-shirts: BRISTOL VT: BEST. TOWN. EVER.)!

A discussion series launching in April will create an opportunity to learn and grow in our understanding of social justice issues so that we can ensure that this town continues to be the warm, caring, and welcoming community we are so proud of.

Most of us don't feel like we see much racism in Bristol. Most of us are white. It can be really hard to imagine what it is like to live in a different skin, and even harder to talk about. But let's try. The April workshop will give us tools for that conversation. We'll define some terms, explore how not challenging our perspectives causes harm to our neighbors and ourselves, and learn about steps we can take to continually make improvement.

I hope you'll join in the conversation April 14th from 7-9pm. The program is called "Seeing & Disrupting Racism" and it is being conducted by the Peace & Justice Center via zoom specifically for Bristol, so the zoom room will be full of neighbors. Registration is free, through the library: https://www.lawrencelibraryvt.org/events

I hope to see you there.
