Late April is an exciting time to visit beavers. Ponds are alive with egg-laying amphibians, birds are building nests, and the beavers are making infrastructure improvements and preparing for the arrival of kits. Explore a Marlboro beaver pond with BEEC naturalist and beaver enthusiast Patti Smith. This pond is also a site where a culvert has been protected by a beaver deceiver. We will be doing some bushwhacking in soggy places, so dress accordingly.
We will meet at the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum's Mountainside Center at 117 Adams Cross Road in Marlboro at 7:00. This event is free but donations are appreciated and will be shared between the education programs at the Museum and Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center.
