Lamoille Restorative Center's JOBS (Jump on Board for Success) program offers youth the opportunity to explore and work on employment goals. Often there are many obstacles for youth in reaching their ambitions including poverty, mental health challenges, finishing high school, and general lack of encouragement and support.
JOBS set out to offer participating youth the chance to learn important and essential job skills and explore their interest in art by curating an exhibit. The JOBS program is pleased to announce its upcoming art exhibit Waking Up to Social Change, opening Friday, February 11th through Friday April 8th at the Lanpher Memorial Library in Hyde Park.
The art exhibit highlights local artists, including art students from Peoples Academy, who address issues involving racism, poverty, gender equity, LGBTQ+ and mental health. The exhibit will include in-depth interviews with some of the artists, by youth in the community.
Lanpher Memorial Library is located at 141 Main Street in Hyde Park. For information regarding library hours, please call 802-888-4628 or online at lanpherlibrary.org. If seeking more information, please contact Jude Mathison at the Lamoille Restorative Center at jobslamoille@gmail.com.
