The Valley Players will present the comedy/mystery Clue: On Stage at the Valley Players Theater, 4254 Main Street (Rt. 100), Waitsfield, on Fridays through Sundays, January 28-Feb. 13. Show time on Fridays and Saturdays will be 7:00 pm; Sunday matinees will start at 4:00 pm. A recording of the show will also be available for a low-cost ticket price on the Broadway On Demand streaming service.

Clue: On Stage has all the characters from the game and takes place on a dark and stormy night at a very unusual dinner party. Each of the guests has an alias, the butler offers a variety of weapons, and the host is, well . . . suspicious. A French maid and some other shady suspects complete this hilarious whodunnit.

Valley Players' members Wes Olds (Graniteville) plays Wadsworth, the stodgy butler; Cassandra Demarais (Websterville) plays Miss Scarlett, a sarcastic businesswoman; Doug Bergstein (Warren) plays Mr. Green, a nervous dinner guest; and Cynthia Seckler (Fayston) plays the mysterious Mrs. White. New to the Valley Players' stage are Carrie Phillips (Waterbury), who plays Mrs. Peacock, a controlling Senator's wife; Clem Turmel (Milton), who plays the obtuse Colonel Mustard; and Josh Morse (Warren), who plays the pompous Prof. Plum.

The Valley Players are thrilled to welcome back to the stage Haley Behn (Northfield), last seen as Alice in the original production of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (2008). Behn plays Yvette, a saucy French maid. Rounding out the cast of Clue are Valley Players' veterans Brent Adams (Warren) as Mr. Boddy, Danielle Dukette (Fayston) as The Cook and The Motorist, and Charlotte Robinson (Warren) as The Cop. The show is directed by Ruth Ann Pattee (Fayston), with set construction by Michelle & Mike Nucci (Waitsfield) and Doug Bergstein. The Stage Manager is Joanne Puente (Worcester), and the Lighting Designer is Irene Halibozek (South Burlington). The stage crew includes Mikki Nucci and Tim O'Connell (Waitsfield).

Clue: On Stage is based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn, written by Sandy Rustin with additional material by Hunter Foster and Eric Price. The screenplay was based on the Paramount Pictures Motion Picture in turn based on the Hasbro board game CLUE. Original music included in the play is by Michael Holland. The play is produced by special arrangement with The Araca Group, Work Light Productions, and Michael Barra/Lively McCabe Entertainment.

In accordance with the COVID mask mandate enacted by the Waitsfield Selectboard on December 6, 2021, audience members are required to wear masks while inside the theater building. The actors will also be masked using ClearMask technology, allowing the audience to enjoy their facial expressions. To purchase tickets and for more information go to valleyplayers.com.
