Share Your Ideas for Richmond's Gateway

Past event

The Town of Richmond is currently working on a project to extend municipal sewer service for the Gateway—the Route 2 corridor from Richmond Village to the Route 2/I-89 interchange. In order for the Town to extend sewer service, the Town must revise its zoning regulations for the Gateway.

Revisions to the Richmond Zoning Regulations are required in order to meet the State of Vermont's planning goals for areas receiving town water/sewer service. However, the Town can meet the State of Vermont's planning goals a number of different ways.

The Richmond Planning Commission needs your input on how the Town should revise its zoning regulations for the Gateway, and on establishing a vision for the future of the Gateway. Topics include allowable uses of properties within the corridor, the scale of the allowable uses, site layout for new development and redevelopment projects, and building form requirements for new development and redevelopment projects.

The commission invites you to attend the following public meetings to share your ideas for the Gateway:

After these initial public outreach meetings, the Planning Commission will be drafting sets of revised regulations for the corridor and visuals for how the corridor could look. These alternatives will be presented to the public for comments in May 2022. I will follow up with public meeting details when the commission is ready to receive comments on the proposed alternatives.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
