The MSMS Community Alliance has joined with Local Motion's Safe Routes to School program to bring MSMS students a morning of fun aimed at encouraging students to walk or ride to school whenever possible. Walking to school is a great way for them to get exercise and to build independence and self-confidence.
On Feb. 2, we will have 2 meeting locations where students can meet: at the State House lawn or VCFA's green. We'll have at least 2 adult volunteers walk with the students to MSMS, leaving at 7:15am. At the school, all students will get treated to hot chocolate and stickers to celebrate. All in time to start class at 8am!
We need at least 8 volunteers: 2 each at the statehouse and at VCFA, and another 4-6 at the school to help hand out hot chocolate and stickers, and to collect the cups before they go into the building. If you can be a walking chaperone, or hand out goodies at the school, or help clean up, please reply to this post.
The whole event will be finished by 8:15am. Thank you!!
