Does a SMALL window between Thanksgiving and Christmas present BIG stress for you? Then look to the LITTLE CITY for downtown holiday spirit and a LARGE selection of gift- giving options to satisfy everyone on your list.

MAGIC on MAIN - This Thursday evening, shops up, down and around Main are leaving the lights on and their doors open for holiday shopping in a no-rush setting. Feel the Magic on Main and enjoy special deals, free gift wrap, sample, surprises and more! Plan accordingly; closing times may vary between 7:00 & 8:00pm.
Bring a friend - or 2 or 3 - and experience the magic of knowing the person behind the counter and the warmth of knowing that your dollars are staying close to home.

LETTERS to SANTA - After last week's Honking Holiday Santa Sleigh Ride, Saint Nick is back at the North Pole getting ready for his return on Christmas Eve! In the meantime, write your letters to Santa and bring them to the special North Pole mailbox at MALABAR. Sign your full name and include your address and he just might write back to you. But hurry - Santa's awfully busy too!

HATS OFF to National Bank of Middlebury for keeping it local and supporting our businesses. Through December 23, every purchase from a locally-owned business in Middlebury, Bristol, Vergennes, Hinesburg and Brandon can give you and the merchant a chance to win $250 each in local currency. 4 drawings each Thursday; good luck & happy shopping!

LIGHTS are BRIGHT – Santa was blown away by the beautiful holiday lights throughout the City of Vergennes last Saturday night. Begin at the park and take a ride around the Little City and delight in the magic of the season as see for yourself. While enroute, take a turn and head up Macdonough Drive to Northland Job Corp – outstanding job, students & staff!

MEMORY TREE – What's with the tree in City Park with the colored lights – it's a 2001 tribute to Fran Allo, a Vergennes Lions Club member whose memory lives on. And my, but that tree has grown! The Vergennes Lions and Greater Vergennes Rotary Club have joined forces to raise money by selling snowflake ornaments to decorate the tree.
Please consider remembering loved ones this season by donating a snowflake ornament (or more) to add to the lights on the tree. Ornaments are available with your donation at: BJ's Farm Supply, Community Market, Jackman Fuels, Linda's Apparel, and Sweet Charity – or go online: http://vergennesrotary.org/MemoryTree to make your donation today!

VERGENNES GREEN – Next, a plug for the Green – Vergennes Green gift certificates are the one-size-fits-all solution. Welcomed at over 50 locations for goods, dining, and services – including health care too! Purchase your green at One Credit Union (M-F) or at lu.lu on the weekends. For more info, visit: https://www.vergennesdowntown.org/vergennes-green-gift-certificates

Last - may the spirit of the season shine bright throughout your community, your home and your heart.
