Grand Isle County Farm Bureau and Island Arts Join Hands for 4-H Education

Grand Isle County Farm Bureau and Island Arts are happy to announce their partnership. The mission of the Farm Bureau is to be "The Unifying Voice of Vermont Agriculture" and Island Arts is "on a mission to creativity." These organizations have a common goal in mind which is to create community activities and engagement opportunities for islanders fueled by the combination of their passions. Both organizations focus on fostering and promoting creative and pertinent youth programs and want to bring 4-H back to our county.

Island Arts and GICFB invite you to join them at the Island Arts Center (Homer Knight Barn), 1127 US-2 in North Hero on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 from 1:00-3:00pm. Masks required when inside the barn. Come celebrate this partnership and join hands with them, bringing your enthusiasm and questions regarding 4-H. Defined on https://4-h.org/, "4‑H is delivered by Cooperative Extension—a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing. For more than 100 years, 4‑H has welcomed young people of all beliefs and backgrounds, giving kids a voice to express who they are and how they make their lives and communities better." This program will be made available for elementary and high school students in our island community.

Martha Manning, UVM's 4-H Educator will be in attendance with a sign-up sheet for interested students, volunteer leaders and to answer questions you may have!

Grand Isle County Farm Bureau and Island Arts are very excited about this project and can't wait to see you on Sat. the 6th for their Open Barn 4-H Day! A tractor will be on site for kids to look at and touch as well as free cookies and milk!
