Genealogy and Slavery Discussion Group - Oct. 28

Past event
Oct 28, 2021, 6 to 8 PM

If you are exploring your family history in relation to the system of slavery, we welcome you to take part in our discussion group. We are people researching ancestors who were slave-holders/enslavers or were enslaved or were knowing bystanders. At our monthly meetings, we share research experiences and discuss the challenges that come from uncovering and speaking about difficult, long-hidden truths. Each meeting includes an education segment and a focused discussion about how our research can be part of the struggle for racial justice. The next monthly meeting is Thursday, October 28 from 6-8 pm via Zoom.
