The Infinite Variety of Shakespeare's Women

Past event
Oct 14, 2021, 7 to 8:30 PM

In Shakespeare's plays, women are far outnumbered by men, yet they are among his most compelling characters. Veteran actor Ellen Barry will take her audience on a memorable journey as she performs and discusses a wide range of the Bard's female characters, from ingénues to leading ladies to character women and finally crones. Along the way, she shares memories of her own experiences as the woebegone Helena in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," the saint-like Hermione in "The Winter's Tale," and the comic schemer Maria in "Twelfth Night," among others.

Come and see "The Infinite Variety of Shakespeare's Women" at 7:00 PM in the 1787 Room of the Campus Center at Castleton University. This event is free and open to the public. All audience members are required to wear masks while indoors in order to comply with Castleton University's mask policy. Questions? Please feel free to call the Casella Box Office at 802-468-1119.
