The VT Genealogy Library has an excellent talk coming up this weekend for those researching their French-Canadian ancestry. At noon on Saturday Jane Whitmore, one of our experts on Quebec research, will present "French-Canadian Genealogy: Getting Started."
Jane will provide an overview of the resources required to begin building your family tree. Though much can be accomplished without knowledge of the French language, sources to assist with research and the translation of records will be provided. This class will also provide insights into Quebec history and how it influenced your ancestor's lives. The talk will be online using Zoom, a handout with references for your own research will be provided and the class fee is $10. To register, please go to www.vtgenlib.org and click on "Classes." For more details or any issues write to education@vtgenlib.org.
