For the 19th year the Horace Greeley Symposium welcomes aspiring writers to join from 9:30 to 3 on October 16 at the beautiful Baptist church on the Green in East Poultney This is the town where Greeley learned the printing trade, eventually creating the nationally known newspaper, The Tribune, which became The Herald Tribune. He was a force for abolition , and ran for President.
The aim of the Foundation is to continue his legacy of fine writing and encourage those beginning the journey. Attendees will listen to the experiences of published writers. . Darcy Gohring, lead speaker, will talk of her book based in Poultney about a young girl's growth and learning. Other speakers will offer writing challenges to actively involve attendees.
