The Vermont Indigenous Heritage Center will be hosting a Leather Brain Tanning Workshop on October 1, 2 and 3. This workshop will teach you to turn deer hide into soft leather suitable for crafts or clothing/regalia. The workshop will begin at 11:00 on Friday, October 1, at 10:00 on Saturday, October 2, and at 10:00 on Sunday, October 3. The instructor for the workshop is Linda Longtoe Sheehan. All are welcome to attend.
The cost for the 3 day series is $60. If you are only able to one or two of the days, the cost is $25 per day. You can reserve your spot ahead of time by going to the Ethan Allen Homestead website or you can arrive on the day of the event and pay at the door using a check or cash. The workshop is free to anyone of Native American descent.
Please bring a lunch and a folding chair for each day of the workshop.
