Art at the Kent has landed again, returning in 2021 with its perennial showcase of contemporary art at an historic crossroads. This year's exhibit, entitled 20/20 HINDSIGHT: Seeing the Past Anew with Contemporary Art, will take place indoors and out from September 10 to October 10.
Opening Celebration is this Saturday, Sept. 11, 3-5 pm. While numbers may be limited inside the building due to COVID-safety protocols (free tickets required for inside admission),* a festive array of things to see and do outside (no tickets required) will be available: new sculptures, historic photo booth, high wheeler bike demonstration, community memory project, tours of the renovated Robinson Sawmill, refreshments, Ben Aleshire's personalized poetry, music and more.
20/20 Hindsight puts a contemporary slant on methods and materials used to develop rural culture in late 19th-century Vermont. Featuring 20 creatives--sculptors, painters, and printers, plus smiths of light, yarn, wool, metal, basketry, digital and mixed media--in a group show celebrating new ways of seeing.

*Please note, in light of COVID: We aim to create a safe and welcoming experience for all visitors. Before you visit, please check our website for current guidelines. At this point, masks are required for all visitors indoors and strongly recommended while exploring the grounds. Also, in an effort to keep a socially distanced and manageable number, (free) tickets will be required to ensure a spot for viewing within the buildings. These can be reserved online. There will be a limited number of tickets available at the door. Entry will depend on fluctuating capacity on any given day or given hour.
Thank you for working with us to make art possible in our own backyard.
