Citizen Participation? What - ME?! Yes, you! We need your voice on September 15th at 6pm - the Moretown Town Clerk's Office.
Every time you vote you exercise your power and make your voice heard. That's the Power of One. Pretty cool, huh?
So what's this all about? Every two years we elect Town Officers and Delegates for the Democratic Party. I'm sure that sounds boring. But read on just a little bit more…
Town committees are the roots of democracy, allowing Vermonters to connect with their community, respond to local issues, hold their legislators accountable, and prepare for vital elections. Empowering Vermont's 251 towns by providing support, training, and resources to their local Democratic committees is a top priority for the Vermont Democratic Party (VDP) in 2021. With critical and competitive elections coming in 2022, the work starts now. The VDP's primary role is to provide the needed infrastructure to activate Democratic Town Committees and strengthen support and coordination with Democratic County Committees. OK… that was the boring part but…
The fun part is you get to connect with other folks in town, in the county and in the state - as much or as little as you want. You'll be able to get updates on what Vermont Dems are doing and how it affects you.
Right now… Moretown needs delegates! That's where more voting comes in and your Power of One. Delegates give Moretown a voice, a seat at the COUNTY table.
So if you're still reading… Democracy doesn't save itself. It doesn't run itself. It takes folks like you to keep it working for YOU.
The election of Moretown Officers and Delegates only takes a few minutes. Won't you stop by and vote? And maybe try your hand at being a delegate?
