The Future of North Avenue – Public Workshop May 20th

Past event
May 20, 2014, 7 to 9 PM

Mark your calendars! The North Avenue Corridor Study's final public workshop will be held on May 20, 2014 at 7:00 pm at St. Mark's Church (1251 North Avenue at Shore Road).

About 70 citizens have attended the two previous public meetings, offered thoughts and opinions, and helped create a vision for the future. New signals, new pedestrian crossings, cycletracks, roundabouts, and even some lane reassignments have been proposed; attendees at our May 20th meeting will help refine and prioritize these concepts for inclusion in our final Corridor Plan.

What's next? The draft North Avenue Corridor Plan, identifying short- and long-term improvements that the city and partners will prioritize, will be completed in June. Some improvements can be achieved quickly, while others will need additional study. The Plan will be presented to the Transportation, Energy, and Utilities Committee of the City Council in June, followed by adoption by the full City Council late this summer.

Can't attend the workshop or just want to see what others are thinking of the possible changes? Our online public input tool will be launched soon, so stay tuned to the project website (http://bit.ly/north-ave), Front Porch Forum, or DPW's Facebook and Twitter pages to add your comments!
