Join us for a free workshop, sponsored by Rural Vermont!

We will be hosting a hands-on, step by step workshop in which we will build a raised bed with materials from the farm and forest, mimicking the natural processes in nature and the forest floor. We will discuss soil health and how to utilize "waste" in your back yard and turn it into a raised growing space that eventually rots down into beautiful soil.

We will explore how humans have had a sacred role in the connection of soil for eons, and discuss how our species has sped up and fostered the formation of healthy soil in different parts of the globe. This hands-on workshop will build the layers of a small scale hugelkultur mound, and also discuss the natural nuances that occur over time throughout the mound.
