Historical Society Presentation - Sunday @ 2 p.m. in Craftsbury Village!

"Discovering a Corner of Craftsbury Village"
An outdoor presentation sponsored by the Craftsbury Historical Society
Sunday, May 9, 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. in Craftsbury Village

Come learn about the fascinating history of the 1931 Cape Cod home on the corner of Cemetery Road next to the Craftsbury General Store. The story involves a devastating fire, the storekeepers' gregarious son, and an adventurous first-year school teacher at Craftsbury Academy. Our presenter, Jim Flint, will share how he discovered the genealogy of the house by talking with long term Craftsbury residents, searching the digital archives of local newspapers, and delving into the Craftsbury land records.

The presentation will be held outdoors in the backyard of the home at 124 South Craftsbury Road. Parking is available in the Village. Come dressed to be outdoors. Masks and social distancing are required. The presentation will be videotaped, so please plan to arrive early so that we can begin on time. Feel free to bring a lawn chair. There will be time for questions and a glimpse inside the house after the presentation.

Reservations are requested. Please respond to this post or email Don Houghton @ don_houghton@yahoo.com to let us know you are coming!
