There are currently four properties that are scheduled for tax sale on May 9th. They are 10 Forest Street, 156 Main Street, 137 Pine Street and 40 Clifford Street. The tax sale process is similar to an auction, high bidder to receive property via a tax deed. Total amount of the winning bid is due to the city by close of business on May 9, only cash or certified checks will be accepted. Once the tax sale is complete, the delinquent tax payer has one year to pay back taxes. If the property is not redeemed during that time, the high bidder will receive the tax deed to the property on May 10, 2015.
