Hello Neighbors,
You are cordially invited to a fun event for a great cause!
- What: Village Walk for COTS (Committee on Temporary Shelter)
- When: Saturday May 1st from 6:30-7:30 pm (or whatever time works best for you!). Rain date May 2.
- Where: Maple-East-Pleasant-Mansfield Street block in Essex Junction (if you are driving please park at Maple Street Park). Please mask up and stay socially distant from folks outside of your "pod".
- Why: To raise public awareness about homelessness in our community and to raise money to support COTS shelters and services for Vermonters who are homeless or are at risk of losing their homes.
- Goal: To raise $2500 as a team. If we make our goal it will be matched by an anonymous donor!
How to get involved – lots of options.
1) Join the team! Go to http://give.cotsonline.org/site/TR?fr_id=1080&pg=entry and choose "Join a team" on the homepage. Search for "Village Walk for COTS" and sign up. There is no fundraising minimum. Search the couch cushions for loose change, have a yard sale with proceeds going to your fundraising total, donate some of that stimulus check, etc.
2) Donate to the team! Go to http://give.cotsonline.org/site/TR?fr_id=1080&pg=entry and choose "Donate". You can give to the team as a whole or to an individual team member.
3) Sponsor the Village Walk for COTS in a different way! Do you have a front lawn on the route and you would be willing to make a sign educating the walkers about COTS/homelessness? Want to bake or purchase treats to thank the walkers? Email VillageWalkForCOTS@gmail.com to sign up.
