Please join for the premiere of a unique documentary film exploring the history and future of the Mad River Valley’s hill farms. Drawing on historic photos and documents, and interviews with current & past farmers, the film explores how the evolution of land use and agriculture in Vermont has shaped our iconic landscape. From the early farmers who cleared the hillsides, to today’s agricultural entrepreneurs, "Hill Farming in the Mad River Valley" considers the challenges of farming the more fertile floodplain soils and illuminates the significance of higher elevation farm land to our heritage and our continued agricultural vitality.
