Want to help enhance Jericho’s natural ecosystems?
Want to help maintain your local park's beauty?
Want to learn more about what role you can play to become a steward of the land?
Then please come to Jericho’s Japanese Knotweed Removal Work Day at Mills Riverside Park and help us plant trees in the Knotweed’s place!
Please join the Jericho Conservation Commission and the Jericho Underhill Land Trust on May 3rd at 1pm at the park! (May 4th at the same time will be the rain date). Please bring hands, energy, shovels, and loppers!
If you are a common park visitor, please consider adopting a tree. Adopting a tree is free. We need supportive caretakers of these trees to make sure they survive the fight against the knotweed! We also are relying on our community to provide support in checking these trees as well!
Once these trees grow, they will provide shade and prohibit excessive knotweed growth! Please come help the day of the planting, or help check on our trees throughout the summer!
We hope that this event will not only help improve the ecology of our local park, but also help empower our local community to take action across the landscape.
Please contact jbofvt@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting a tree, or if you have any questions about the event!
