Join RAFT on Tuesday, March 11 from 6-8 p.m. for Emergency Preparedness for Individuals and Families, a presentation by Vermont Emergency Management at the Richmond Library. With increased severe weather here in Vermont, individual preparedness is more important than ever. During this event, Vermont Emergency Management will provide an overview of the hazards we face, briefly touch on the last two summer's flooding events, discuss steps you can take to be more prepared for the next emergency, provide information on how you can help your neighbors and answer any questions.
If you haven't heard of RAFT, we are a new LTRG (long-term recovery group) serving Richmond, Hinesburg, and Huntington (and hopefully Starksboro soon) in regards to increasingly severe weather and the resulting flooding our communities have experienced. RAFT is committed to assisting the community in disaster preparedness, mitigation efforts, immediate response and clean up, long-term rebuild, 1:1 support, and building a more disaster resilient community.
