Theresa Snow, founder of Salvation Farms in 2004, is also a founding Board member of the North American Association of Gleaning Organizations. She has been recognized and / or collaborated with many organizations such as Pete's Greens, High Mowing Organic Seeds and served as the Director of Agriculture Resources for the Vermont Foodbank. One of her many goals is to have responsible stewardship of resources and maximize farm resources.
As an organization Salvation Farms' goals include reducing food loss on farms, increasing the use of locally grown food, and fostering appreciation for Vermont's agricultural heritage and future. They have built gleaning models developing programs to aggregate, process and broker Vermont's surplus farm produce which can be upwards of 14.3 million pounds of remaining edible crops.
